Thank you for visiting my website. I appreciate you stopping by. I created this site to provide me with a creative outlet for my thoughts, passions, and a place to relay what is going on in my life, in general.
I was born and raised in East Tennessee. I love this part of the country because it is blessed with so much natural beauty like the Great Smoky Mountains and the Tennessee River. My family has referred to this area as “God’s Country” and I can definitely see why! One of my hobbies is photography, so these locations lend to some awesome pictures, for which I will share on this site so you can see it too!
People have described me as being driven and focused. I can definitely agree with those descriptions. Others have said, though, that I am aloof, a loner. And, to some degree, I can see why they would say that. However, for the most part, that is simply not the case. I am more of an extrovert than some would believe me to be. I simply have had life experiences that have proven that it’s sometimes better to stay more to myself than to sometimes get involved in petty, stressful situations. My circle of friends is small, but I would do anything for those in this circle. They are my world…my family! And with them, I can truly be myself with…flaws and all!!
As far as my work life is concerned, I am very blessed to have been able to grow my career in such a way that I don’t have to rely on anyone to make my living for me. And, while I am very proud of that fact, it does present some challenges in my personal life. I find it very difficult in trying new things and meeting new people. I hope this site will provide an outlet for me to express myself and inspire me to expand these areas in my life and get out of my comfort zone.
In my 40’s, I went on a whim and started training for a half-marathon. I did several 5k’s in the process and accomplished doing a half-marathon in 2013. During the COVID shutdown, I was able to connect with a Optavia Health Coach who helped me learn about how to make my health a priority. From March 2020 to October 2020, I was able to lose 64 lbs. I am very grateful for that. Health is becoming a definite priority in my life. I plan to be as healthy as I can because I want to stick around as long as the good Lord will allow me to.
I also love taking impromptu day trips, mostly on secondary roads, that sometimes extend to weekend trips. These help me to focus my energies on my inner self. Most recently, I spent some time in Western North Carolina, near Asheville. I hadn’t been able to take as many trips since COVID hit in 2020. It was good to get out again! I plan to do more trips soon and hope to share my experiences with you.
I hope you follow me along on my journey thru this thing called life and enjoy the things that I document on this website! Looking forward to the journey!
Sincerely,
Starrfinder
